With the recent surge of new cases and increasing concerns for public health, the Freeborn County Board of Commissioners has closed all Freeborn County buildings and facilities to the public including the Freeborn County Government Center, Freeborn County Human Services, Freeborn County Fairgrounds and the Freeborn County Highway Department.
This closure is until further notice
We sincerely apologize for this inconvenience.
Be assured, while the buildings will be closed to the public, normal county services and operations will continue to be provided to the community on the same schedule, through both phone and email. Many offices have made arrangements to provide alternative options for services. Most services can also be done online if necessary and citizens are encouraged to explore those options
A drop box has been placed in the law enforcement lobby to allow document drop offs for all offices to continue to receive and process real estate documents, tax payments.
The County Emergency Operations Center will continue to update the community’s level(s) of response as the pandemic evolves.
All Government Center access is through the Law Enforcement Center (LEC) entrance only (Corner of College St and Newton Av. Parking available in northeast lot.)
Each visitor will be asked screening questions.
All visitors will be required to wear masks.
