Childbirth Class

Purpose
Freeborn County Public Health Department and Mayo Clinic Health System Albert Lea nurses have teamed up to provide childbirth education in our community.

The class is designed to prepare the expectant woman and her coach / support person for the experiences of late pregnancy, labor, delivery, and postpartum.

Topics
Topics discussed in the classes are:
  • Breathing techniques
  • Cesarean birth
  • Labor / delivery process
  • Maternal / fetal aspects of the third trimester
  • Postpartum adjustments
  • Relaxation skills
  • The "normal" newborn
  • Tour of The Baby Place
  • Updated car seat information
Class Options
  • Two evening classes, from 5 pm - 8 pm, held at Mayo Clinic Health System Albert Lea in the Foundation Board Room (Room 20, Lower Level).
  • Two morning classes, from 9 am -12 pm, held at Freeborn County Government Center in the Freeborn Room.

Cost & Registration
There is no cost to participants. Pre-registration is required, to register, call 507-377-6366.
