Planting Crops on County Right-of-Way (ROW)

Planting Crops on County Right-of-Way (ROW)County road ROW defined as the area on both sides of a roadway from property line to property line or highway easement lines and ROW shall include: roadbeds, shoulders, ditches or boulevards.· 

§                         Plowing, tilling and other operations within ROW are unlawful according to Minnesota State Statute 160.2715. ·

§                         All actions in ROW are subject to permit application and requirements. ·

§                         We reserve the right to ask for removal of crops planted in the ROW or the County may remove them, at the owner’s expense.·

§                         Civil liability may also be extended to the party who plowed or tilled the property, or planted vegetation illegally.
