Freeborn County Public Health and Mayo Clinic Health System Albert Lea nurses have teamed up to provide childbirth education in our community.

 

The class is designed to prepare the expectant woman and her coach/support person for the experiences of late pregnancy, labor, delivery and pospartum.

 

Topics discussed in the classes:

  • Maternal/fetal aspects of the third trimester
  • Labor/delivery process
  • Relaxation skills
  • Breathing techniques
  • Cesarean birth
  • "The normal newborn"
  • Postpartum adjustments
  • Updated car seat information
  • Tour of The Baby Place

The two-day classes are from 4 to 7 pm on the following dates:

Session 1 - February 4 and February 11, 2013

Session 2 - June 10 and June 17, 2013

Session 3 - October 14 and October 21, 2013

The all-day classes (attend one day) are from 9 am to 5 pm on the following dates:

January 12, 2013

March 16, 2013

April 27, 2013

September 14, 2013

November 16, 2013

All classes are held at Health Reach, 1705 Southeast Broadway Avenue, Albert Lea, Minnesota.

 

There is no cost to participants.  Pre-registration is required.
