Absentee ballots are available 46 days prior to State Primary and General Elections. A completed absentee ballot application must be received before a ballot can be issued to a voter. Absentee ballots can be requested online or by returning a completed absentee ballot application (PDF) to the Freeborn County Auditor-Treasurer's Office. Absentee ballots must be returned to our office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Election Day in order to be counted.
You can apply online or track the status of your absentee ballot in the process by using the Voter Information Portal.
Military or overseas voters can also vote by absentee ballot. More information can be found on the Minnesota Secretary of State Military/Overseas Voting Page.
