About WIC

Purpose

Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) is a nutrition program that helps eligible pregnant women, new mothers, babies, and young children eat well, learn about nutrition, and stay healthy.

Services

WIC provides nutrition education and counseling, nutritious foods, and referrals to health and other social services.

  • Nutrition Education: WIC offers tips and advice to help keep you and your family healthy.
  • Information: You will learn about health care, immunizations, and other community resources.
  • WIC Foods: Participants will receive a WIC card to shop for healthy foods for each participant.
  • Peer Breastfeeding Support Program: WIC offers the services of trained peer counselors for pregnant and breastfeeding women.
