The Sheriff’s Office is run by the Sheriff who is elected to the position every 4 years. The Sheriff appoints a Chief Deputy as the second in command and an administrative assistant to aid in the office.
The Sheriff and Chief Deputy oversee a Jail Administrator, 3 Patrol Lieutenants, and the Emergency Management Director.
The Jail Administrator is in charge of the Adult Detention Center, while three Lieutenants supervise the Detectives, the Patrol Deputies, Records Staff, Dispatch Staff, and Civil Process.
The Lieutenants are responsible for overseeing daily patrol shifts, investigative work, maintaining the work schedule, reviewing and approving reports, overseeing training and recreational programs, conducting Detective and Patrol Deputy reviews and ensuring the daily tasks of the sheriff’s office are met.
